Two Jobs At Once
The thing I love most about Final Fantasy XI is the fact that on a whim you can change a job at any time and try something new.
I'm typically a whimsical person and I can rarely stick with any given job for a lengthy amount of time so for the moment I'm working on leveling two jobs at the same time.
On my main character, Raife, I'm leveling Paladin and Blue Mage.
But I'm stuck in the sixties for the moment. It's taking a lot longer to level the jobs and feel like I'm accomplishing much of anything.
So, to pass the time, I found gear that can be shared between Paladin and Blue Mage therefore decreasing some of the junk taking up space in my inventory. I’ve included important statistics for most of the gear below. Of course, this is only gear that I would like to have or already use.

Quest: Waking The Beast (Shiva's Shotel)
Once you can summon the six prime avatars, check the ??? at (G-6) in La Theine Plateau to activate this quest. Now, you have to fight all six over again but you will select “Waking The Beast” option at the Crystals. After you’ve obtained all six Eyes, head to Full Moon Fountain and take on Carbuncle Prime (a level 80 avatar). When you defeat the big blue guy, the Shiva’s Shotel may drop among other items.
Homam Gear
To obtain Homan gear, you have to take on Proto-Omega in Central Apollyon Limbus. Once defeated, he may drop certain body parts which can be traded to Wilhelm in Mhaura for Homam pieces. Of course, to get access to Limbus you must be on or past Chapter 8 of the Chains of Promathia Missions.
Walahra Turban
You need 1000 Imperial Bronze Pieces to trade to Gajaad (J-6) in Al Zahbi. There’s a number of ways you can go about doing this but the easiest method is to either purchase 20 Imperial Gold Coins from the AH or using 20,000 Imperial Standing Points (trade points for coins from Ughrid G-9 in Aht Urghan White Gate). Next, head to Nashmau and trade those Imp. Gold Coins to Awaheen (G-9). He’ll trade you 100 Mythril pieces then 200 Silver and finally 1000 Bronze pieces. Take these back to Gajaad and trade him 100 at a time for Walahra Water and upon giving him 1000 pieces he’ll give you the Turban.
Swift Belt
Depending on your race, determines which NM you have to fight. In order to obtain a Fomor Codex, you have to fight Stegotaurs in the Sacrarium (50 cap). Then, locate the ??? and trade the Codex to summon the NM. The belt is not a 100% drop however.
Balor - Hume (F-5 2nd Map) *Beastmaster can solo this one
Caithleann - Mithra (F-11 2nd Map)
Indich - Galka (G-11 2nd Map)
Lobais- Tarutaru (H-5 2nd Map)
Luaith - Elvaan (G-5 2nd Map)
